Captain Hickok, a representative of the NDSD, arrives at an underground laboratory conducting experiments on the human brain. Hickok's visit is prompted by the fact that one of the "test subjects" has died. The captain, who wants to get to the bottom of the true cause of death, is confronted by the head of the experiment, Van Fleet, and his assistant, Dr. Earhart.
