Miranda, experiencing the loss of a loved one, attends a course of psychological help. It seems to her that something sinister is happening around her - she sees eerie shadows, hears horrifying sounds. Not getting help from the psychologist, she goes to a tarologist, where she learns that she is in mortal danger. She is haunted by an evil entity and, when the pain is too great, it attacks her friends and loved ones, tearing their faces into the likeness of a monstrous smile.
