After being injured on set, stuntman Colt Sievers has been out of the profession for a year and a half, working as a parking lot attendant and blaming himself for that failed stunt. Suddenly he gets a call from a producer and asks him to fly to Australia, where his former girlfriend-operator Jody shoots his directorial debut, a large-scale sci-fi film "Metalstorm". Upon arrival it turns out that Jody is not happy to see him, and also the case is complicated by the disappearance of the performer of the main role - a star of action movies, which Colt was once an understudy.
