People with superpowers are still discriminated against and forced to earn money illegally to make ends meet. Pavani, a girl with an unusual form of telekinesis, unwittingly witnesses the murder of her older brother by a robopod, one of the "human-safe" machines recently adopted by the police. Fleeing from the corrupt cops, Pavani meets Connor, who has just been released from a five-year prison sentence.
