Rose and her daughter Sofia travel to the Spanish coastal town of Almeria for a consultation with the healer Gomez. He may be able to cure Rose of an unknown illness that has left her in a wheelchair. However, in the atmosphere of this sunny city, Sofia, confined all her life by her mother's illness, begins to behave more freely under the influence of the mysterious traveler Ingrid. Her daughter's increased freedom worries the controlling mother.
