John and Mary have lived the last ten years in a state of grief and guilt. Their only daughter Claire ran away from home when she was fourteen and was never found. Claire returns unexpectedly, now a young woman of twenty-four. Mary is overwhelmed with joy. But John is certain that this is not their daughter.
