Morgan and her sixteen-year-old daughter Clara want more than anything to be different. The mother fears that her daughter will repeat the mistakes of her youth. The daughter, free-spirited and stubborn, goes her own way. As a result of a personal tragedy, their world falls apart, and in search of solace, the mother becomes close to an old friend, while Clara meets a local heartthrob and bully.
